About

I'm Olivia Ortiz. I plan proposals in Puerto Vallarta.

Olivia Ortiz, marriage proposal planner in Puerto Vallarta

Chapter 01

The hospitality years

I started in hospitality at 23, working inside the boutique hotels of Puerto Vallarta. Within two years I was concierge. By 2014 I had planned my first surprise proposal, a guest from Seattle who wanted to ask his girlfriend on the rooftop after dinner. I hid the ring in a wine glass. She cried. I was hooked.

Chapter 02

A decade inside the bay's best stays

I spent the next eight years running operations across boutique hotels in Puerto Vallarta and managing Short Term Rentals around the bay, coordinating floors, vendors, staff and full booking calendars. I planned dozens of private dinners and quietly orchestrated hundreds of surprise proposals for guests without their partners ever suspecting anything. I learned the bay from every angle: every chef, every photographer, every lanchero, every florist.

Chapter 03

Por amor al arte

On the side, I've always thrown the parties for my friends (birthdays, anniversaries, the dinners no one wants to plan), and they will tell you those nights run on time, look beautiful, and feel like ours. From there I started helping friends, family, and friends-of-friends plan their proposals, purely for the love of it. The same pattern kept appearing: smart, well-traveled couples who didn't know where to begin, what to ask for, or which small detail would quietly unravel the moment. After enough of those conversations, and after producing my own wedding from start to finish, my friends and the colleagues I'd worked with for a decade pushed me to make this formal.

Chapter 04

What I bring

A decade of insider relationships with every boutique hotel, restaurant, photographer, lanchero, and florist in the bay. The operational discipline of years running hotels and rentals, which is why nothing slips. The ability to stage a surprise inside a property without anyone tipping off the partner. A planner who actually plans, who is on-site, and who does not subcontract the most important moment of your life to a junior.

Chapter 05

Just proposals.

I don't do weddings, or parties, or anything else. Just proposals. Three a week, each one mine from start to finish. That focus is the whole point. Like a chef with a single tasting menu, every hour of my week goes into the one moment a couple will remember for the rest of their lives.

What I believe

01

A proposal is not a wedding. It needs a different kind of planner.

02

The story matters more than the spectacle.

03

Surprise is a craft, not luck.

04

I'd rather plan one perfect proposal a week than five rushed ones.

05

The best proposals feel inevitable in retrospect.
